Loewe Wall Stand Flex
Loewe Racks – now more flexible than ever

Kronach. – Many among us appreciate elegant simplicity and exclusive individuality. Resting the TV stylishly against the wall or finding precisely the right spot for the home entertainment system as a whole – it’s all possible with the new set-up options from Loewe: the Loewe Wall Stand Flex and the Loewe Racks which are now even more versatile than ever. An ensemble which allows the Loewe TV to come unfailingly into its own.

Loewe Wall Stand Flex
The Loewe Wall Stand Flex is perfectly suited to all those who simply wish to rest their TV against the wall, as if it were a piece of sculpture. Loewe TVs of 32 - 46 inches in size can be mounted at any height on the spectacular brushed aluminium stand and can also be tilted as desired within a range of -10° to +2°. Thus allowing an optimal view of the screen, irrespective of height – and dispensing with any annoying cables which are fed, hidden from view, through the Loewe Wall Stand Flex. Newly designed VESA size adapters are also available to mount the TV. Loewe TVs are rendered even more covetable design objects courtesy of the Loewe Wall Stand Flex. And by the way... the much-coveted IFA PreView Award for the best design achievement was also conferred on the Loewe Wall Stand Flex.

Loewe Racks
No other media furniture becomes a Loewe TV and the individual system components so well. But this is not simply a result of the timelessly elegant design and extraordinarily high-quality workmanship. The visible surfaces have also been given a luxurious finish through the painstaking application of three layers of the finest quality varnish, before receiving a high-gloss hand polish in up to twelve stages. The particular appeal of Loewe Racks lies in their functionality which has been thought out, right down to the last detail. An intelligent air circulation system, for example, guarantees optimal ventilation of electrical components stored in the Rack.
Furthermore, the personalisation potential is almost limitless in scope. Whether the Loewe Subwoofer, Loewe Sound Projector, Stereo or Center Speaker, Blu-ray player, CD and DVD collection, the Loewe Active Glasses or simply the remote control: the home cinema system never fails to make an orderly impression. Moreover, with the HDMI link, all components can be controlled by the remote control even when hidden from view.
Nothing remains which could distract the eye from the Loewe television – ensuring it is set off to great effect. It can be positioned to the left, right or dead centre quite effortlessly with the rotating stand. And it goes without saying that the Stereo or Center Speaker concealed in the Rack can be set up to ensure optimal alignment of sound and picture. The closed cover panel of the Loewe Rack also allows the Loewe TV to be effortlessly attached to the wall above the Rack itself. And, should you wish, indirect backlighting of the 165.30 or 165.45 Rack will ensure that your home cinema is unfailingly set off to best effect. The Loewe 165.30 and 165.45 CS also afford the option of interior lighting.

And last but not least: the intelligent cable routing of the new optionally available rear wall panel means the Racks can now be positioned anywhere at all in the room. All Loewe Racks are available for delivery in Chrome Silver, High Gloss Black and High Gloss White.

Loewe VideoNet App

Access the best videos on the net with Loewe

Kronach. – Loewe televisions make operation a breeze. And this convenience is exemplified by the Loewe VideoNet app. With this application, German premium manufacturer Loewe has beautifully enhanced its home entertainment systems via the iPad. Furthermore, the Loewe VideoNet app provides the user with easy access to the best online videos. It streams the latest programmes, online shows, screencasts and podcasts directly to a Loewe flat-screen TV or iPad. Now Loewe is making this pioneering app available for all LED televisions over 32 inches with the MediaNet function, and is thus opening up entirely new applications even for models already in circulation.

The German and English language Loewe VideoNet app is currently the only one of its kind to conveniently open up not only standard programmes but also programmes from around the world – even for home cinema. This application affords access to both content from major broadcasters and videos from other providers such as sports clubs, schools, universities and amateur filmmakers – all via the iPad and the Loewe television. Content from around the world is accessible in various languages, and supplements more than 10,000 different programmes sorted according to genre and language. Using the favourites function, videos can be conveniently added to the favourites list with just one click. The latest episodes of a podcast are automatically listed, allowing users to access not only the most up-to-date content, but the latest information too. In addition, editor’s picks are suggested to the customer on the app’s homepage.
After a Loewe television and an Apple iPad are paired to a specific user, personal favourites on the Loewe VideoNet app can be synced to both devices. If only one of these two products is available, it is of course still possible to use the Loewe VideoNet app either via MediaNet on the Loewe television or via the iPad. Furthermore, the new “Send-to-TV” function enables the customer to send their selected videos to the Loewe TV for the first time. Videos are then played on the TV screen straight away. This is especially useful for longer film sequences, while short videos can be viewed conveniently on the iPad. In general, all videos are streamed, including those on the iPad, as this has several advantages compared to download: it is faster, easier and does not use up unnecessary memory. The latest Loewe TV software version makes the VideoNet service available in the integrated Loewe MediaNet. VideoNet is available now for iPad in the AppStore. The Loewe VideoNet app represents a further innovation for the senses which further extends the company's repertoire of Internet applications.

This will ensure direct responsibility with rapid decision-making channels at the highest management level.

The sales trend of the Loewe Group fell significantly short of expectations in recent months. To benefit successfully from opportunities in the premium market of the consumer electronics sector, Loewe has initiated a communication and product offensive. In addition to TV advertising in Germany targeted to specific groups, the Company will expand the Loewe product world to include a completely new segment with the launch of new standalone audio products in the next few days.
Loewe AG: 1st - 3rd quarter 2011

Loewe third-quarter sales slightly higher year-on-year

3rd quarter 2011:

Loewe sales up 1% over previous year

Television sales up 4%

Successful cost cutting measures result in reduced losses

Successful International Consumer Electronics Fair 2011

Fiscal year 2011:

New Loewe audio segment to be ready for holiday shopping season

Expansion of premium-based marketing

Eye-catching TV campaign in time for the holiday shopping season

Good 2011 holiday shopping season expected

Kronach, November 3, 2011 – At EUR 67.4 million, Loewe Group sales in the third quarter of 2011 were 1% higher than the 2010 figure of EUR 66.5 million. Although the value of the European market for LCD TVs declined by 9% in the third quarter, the Loewe sales trend for LCD televisions was very gratifying. Sales of LCD TVs rose by 4% to EUR 55.9 million in the third quarter (Q3 2010: EUR 53.9 million). While Loewe sales in Germany developed positively with 13% growth to EUR 45.9 million in the third quarter of 2011, the persistent difficult economic conditions in parts of Europe strained Loewe's export business. Export sales declined by 17% to EUR 21.5 million in the third quarter. At EUR 186.1 million, total sales of the Loewe Group in the first nine months of 2011 were 13% lower than the 2010 figure of EUR 213.9 million.

Following the traditionally somewhat weaker summer months of July and August, the International Consumer Electronics Fair 2011 held in Berlin in September was a good start into the important holiday shopping season for Loewe. "Our high-quality Loewe Home Entertainment systems offering the best picture and individual sound contributed as much to our success at the IFA as the new appealing audio solutions. The orders from our retail partners exceeded those of the previous year and, together with the positive market outlook, support our expectations for a robust year-end spurt," was how Loewe CEO Oliver Seidl summed up the current business development.

The slightly increased sales level and successful cost savings within the context of the Loewe "Fast Forward" future strategy program enabled the Company to reduce its losses in the third quarter of 2011. In this period, Loewe generated an EBIT loss of EUR 3.9 million (Q3 2010: EBIT loss of EUR 5.0 million). EBIT amounted to a loss of EUR 11.7 million in the first nine months (Q1-3 2010: EBIT loss of EUR 9.1 million).

After having successfully reorganized product development and further optimizing the internal processes in recent months, Loewe implemented all planned conversions of the TV products from 2D to 3D on schedule. "We will expand our product portfolio to include a completely new segment of new audio standalone products in the next few weeks. This means that Loewe will be able to offer a very up-to-date and attractive product portfolio in time for the important holiday shopping season in 2011,” continued Seidl.

The measures for reducing costs initiated through "Fast Forward" will continue to be carried out using a targeted approach. The potentials for cutting costs will be utilized systematically in particular in the area of cost of materials. Another focus is the expansion of the premium-based marketing of Loewe products within and outside of Germany. "In addition to the two existing pilot projects with the retail chain FNAC in France, five additional points of sale are planned for year-end. In the case of John Lewis in the United Kingdom, four test branches were set up initially; another three joined the network in October," explained Manfred L. Fitzgerald, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.

Another key element of “Fast Forward” is the current communication offensive. A number of campaigns with ads in large daily newspapers and target group oriented, regional radio advertising are underway at the present time. And Loewe is starting an eye-catching TV campaign just in time for the holiday shopping season. "The central focus will be our Loewe Individual product line with its many configuration options. With a total of 450 spots, we will reach the target groups for Loewe in an optimal way," said Fitzgerald. The TV spots will be broadcast on the news channels n-tv and N24 in November and December.

In the future, Loewe will continue to expand its position as the European premium brand in consumer electronics, building on the “Fast Forward” future strategy program. After Loewe's successful presence at this year's International Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin, the Company expects to have a good holiday shopping season in the context of the expectations for the general economy. However, due to the business development in the first nine months of 2011, sales for 2011 as a whole will be lower than in the previous year. This will prevent Loewe from achieving positive EBIT for fiscal 2011.

Despite the fact that the persistent difficult economic conditions in parts of Europe represent a strain for Loewe's export business in particular, the consumer electronics market offers good medium-term prospects in the premium segment. In addition to the continued replacement demand and the increasing ownership of more than one LCD TV in Europe, new technologies like 3D television and HbbTV (the connection of television and the Internet) offer positive stimuli that will last beyond the current fiscal year.

Loewe presents 3D TV

Perfect home entertainment in the third dimension

Introduction of 3D technology to the Loewe system landscape

Loewe Individual now even more multifaceted courtesy of 3D

Loewe BluTechVision 3D for a premium cinema experience in the living room

Integrated conversion of 2D content to full 3D picture

Integrated recording function for two and three dimensional programmes

Loewe MediaNet and Loewe MediaText for a unique range of interactive online services

Kronach. – 3D television is increasingly part of captivating home entertainment. The range of 3D Blu-ray discs available is continuing to grow accordingly. What's more, the number of TV stations transmitting 3D content is also set to increase this year. German manufacturer Loewe is launching the right technology at the right time with the Individual television line – opening up a whole new dimension. With its new Individual Compose 3D televisions in 40, 46 and 55 inches, Loewe is concentrating its efforts on Full-HD LCD technology with LED backlight and 400Hz picture quality. The luminosity and high picture frequency of these displays makes them perfect for showing 3D content. It goes without saying that the televisions can also display 2D, as usual, in perfect quality. They are even capable of converting two dimensional programmes into 3D. Complex algorithms guarantee an impressive picture. The new 3D-compatible Blu-ray player, the Loewe BluTechVision 3D, also serves as an additional signal source. In conjunction with the latest Individual Sound Projector, which provides genuine 7.1 surround sound from one single component, the perfect home cinema experience is guaranteed. The whole system is controlled with a single remote.

Loewe 3D system
With the new Loewe Individual televisions, every customer is perfectly prepared for the growing range of three-dimensional content. So how does Loewe 3D technology work? The television screen alternately shows the picture for the left and right eye in a high-speed sequence. An integrated infra red transmitter controls the Loewe Active 3D glasses in a parallel sequence: it opens and then closes left and right – with millisecond precision. These “shutter glasses” currently offer the best 3D experience, using alternate darkening of each eye to create a three-dimensional picture in the mind of the viewer. The glasses are synchronised with the television via an infra red transmitter. This is discreetly integrated into the brand’s characteristic “Loewe eye” – in perfect harmony with the design of the Loewe Individual television.
Minimalist design, exquisite materials and a spectacular profile from all angles: that’s Loewe. The contrast filter panel made from high-quality grey glass not only increases viewing pleasure but also plays a key role in making the Loewe Individual 3D television a design piece with timeless appeal. The Individual line's outstanding design has already won the coveted iF gold award 2011.
The Loewe DR+ hard disk recorder integrated in the TV also represents enhanced value: when the content provider allows recording, it is now also possible to conveniently record and play back 3D content or stream it to another 3D-compatible Loewe television via WLAN, LAN or Powerline. It holds 500 GB.

The Loewe 3D home entertainment system can be perfectly supplemented with the Loewe BluTechVision 3D Blu-ray player. It is the perfect playback device for a spectacular cinema experience in the home. It streams data from a 3D Blu-ray disc to the screen of the Loewe Individual Compose television with optimum precision. Of course, the Loewe BluTechVision 3D is also equipped for all other formats including CD, DVD and 2D Blu-ray. It can also download additional online information on the film inserted via LAN.
The Loewe Individual 3D system attains a special elegance when the playback device and audio components such as the Individual Sound Projector and the Loewe Subwoofer are integrated into the beautifully finished 165.45 SP Loewe Rack. After use, the Loewe Active 3D Glasses can also be stored here securely whilst always being to hand. With the Loewe Assist Multi-Control remote control or the optionally available Loewe Assist Media, the entire system can be easily operated from one source.

Loewe MediaNet and Loewe MediaText
It goes without saying that all Individual Compose 3D televisions are equipped with the Loewe MediaPortal. It provides convenient access to numerous media in the home network, including digital radio stations and photo, music and video files on external hard drives – not to mention the entire worldwide web courtesy of Loewe MediaNet. No other manufacturer has currently integrated more European content into its range. With the integrated browser, an infinite variety of further online content can be used with ease. Furthermore, the pioneering Loewe MediaText, which corresponds to the HbbTV standard, is also included in the package. A number of services to accompany programmes on channels including ARD, ZDF and Arte are also available to select online, and, with the Loewe Assist remote control, are just a click of the red button away. Loewe is one of the first manufacturers to prepare its televisions for the videotext of the future. The new Loewe Individual Compose 3D televisions are therefore among the most versatile flat-screen 3D TVs in the industry.

Home entertainment in the third dimension
Naturally, the new intuitively operable 3D products can also be perfectly integrated into the Loewe system landscape. That means a great variety of individualisation possibilities, set-up solutions and sound options – up to 7.1 surround sound – to bring the cinema experience home. The market launch of the Individual Compose 3D television will begin with the 46 inch device. The Individual 40 and Individual 55 Compose 3D will then follow in succession. The Loewe 3D flat-screen TVs will be available for delivery in High Gloss White, Aluminium Black and Aluminium Silver. The interchangeable insets can also be freely designed to suit individual colour preferences. With the introduction of 3D technology and the continual further development of display techniques and equipment options, Loewe guarantees a harmonious blend of excellent design and state-of-the-art technology.

The future of home entertainment

Loewe presents spectacular design studies

Kronach. – German premium manufacturer Loewe is presenting three trailblazing design icons for the future of home entertainment at IFA 2011. With the Loewe Pivot, the pivoting 21:9 format wide screen automatically positions itself horizontally or vertically – as usage requires. In this way, the multimedia TV can serve as an information terminal or an exclusive home cinema system, for example in a business scenario. And with the help of screen art, it can also create a uniquely individual atmosphere.

The Loewe Module study on the other hand focuses on the way in which young people use different media in parallel. Whilst racing on a virtual track on the main screen, a simple glance at the adjacent screen affords contact with other players or an overview of friends' latest posts on facebook.

The third design icon, Loewe Mirror, creates wholly surprising, almost magical effects – such as virtual leaves swirling around the mirrored wall. It also goes without saying that you can check how your evening dress is sitting whilst calling up a floral design electronic timeline which displays the main events since activated last. Loewe, inventor of the electronic television 80 years ago, presents its vision of how television could look in the future.

Loewe Pivot – the flexible screen
Whether it’s news, the stock market, tweets or new YouTube videos – we are inundated with more and more information every day. All the while, the desire to command this mass of information is increasing – but without having to spend the whole day in front of the computer. This is where the Loewe Pivot design study offers an aesthetic and practical approach to the concept of a fixed multimedia device. The full-size high definition screen displays general and personalised information in an easily-accessible format. And it goes without saying that the information displayed can be configured entirely according to individual preferences. The intuitive navigation means that interesting applications can be focused on, allowing you to delve deeper. A particularly impressive feature is that if a film tip is selected, for example, the Loewe Pivot automatically recognises the widescreen format and pivots the screen into a horizontal position. The selected film can now be watched in all its glory, whether in widescreen or even in full-screen cinemascope format. Once the film is over, the pivot screen reverts to its vertical default position. The Pivot not only provides the perfect frame for news, images and films but also for video art. Integrated into the back of the device are a 3D Blu-ray drive and a Sound Projector, the latter ensuring impressive sound quality. This superlative degree of integration for the senses gives rise to a unique comprehensive all-in-one home media solution.

Loewe Module – for parallel media use
Young people increasingly use media in parallel. The son, brother or friend, who conquers foreign worlds in an online video game whilst discussing other gaming moves with fellow players over chat, all the while interrupting the action to read the latest Facebook posts, is no stranger. To ensure that all media can be used without interruption, Loewe has envisaged a two-screen modular concept for this very scenario – Loewe Module. With a configuration similar to a cockpit, the device, which can be set up on the floor, consists of two screens which are arranged side-by-side and can be used simultaneously. Whilst the main content is displayed on the main screen, contextual information can be viewed on the adjacent smaller high definition screen. As such the Loewe Module offers unprecedented depth of content and thus user-relevant added value. This applies equally to computer games and TV programmes as they are broadcast. In this way, for example, video chats can be displayed on the adjacent screen whilst games are played online. Similarly, whilst watching a sports programme, it is possible to show the different available camera angles on the smaller screen and select them for display on the main screen. Real-time commentary can, of course, also be displayed from the various social networks or you can make your own – all whilst watching a programme. The new HbbTV standard is integrated ex-works, making the connection between Internet and TV exceptionally convenient.

Loewe Mirror – the magic mirror
The way in which the Loewe Mirror design study arouses emotions is almost magical. Only when used does the mirror reveal its secret. Animation flits subtly over the mirror surface, bringing it to life. The Loewe Mirror is however, so much more than just a high-quality TV and attractive design object adorning an individual interior. The study also integrates a futuristic electronic calendar – the Timeline. It not only displays appointments, for example, but also notification of incoming video calls or completed live recordings. Looking backwards or forwards in the floral design Timeline is child’s play; a simple hand movement in the corresponding direction is all that’s required. Similarly, the user can select individual events and take a closer look. If the Timeline is no longer required, the Loewe Mirror reverts to ambient mode. And of course, the Loewe Mirror can also be used, quite simply, as a mirror. With great sophistication, the Loewe Mirror combines applications for the senses with superlatively minimalist design – and as such ideally lends itself to integration into any living environment.

Loewe Individual 46 Compose 3D receives the international EISA award

Kronach. – The Loewe principle of uncompromising individuality teamed with superior technological standards makes its mark at an international level. The independent panel of experts from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) conferred the renowned EISA award in the category ‘European AV Streaming TV of the Year 2011-2012’ upon the Loewe Individual 46 Compose 3D. “The brand new Loewe Individual 46 Compose 3D delivers stunning pictures and sound while providing lots of connectivity options,” was their verdict. The prize-giving ceremony is set to take place during the IFA in Hotel Adlon in Berlin on 2 September 2011. Loewe CEO Oliver Seidl was delighted: “Loewe Individual represents the company’s brand values particularly well. This award shows that the combination of minimalist design, innovation for the senses and exclusive individuality is truly recognised by the European specialist press.”

The jury, composed of the editors in chief from the EISA specialist magazines, was particularly impressed by the combination of superior picture and sound quality with unlimited connectivity. The interplay of Full-HD LCD technology, LED backlight and 400 Hz picture quality ensures that the Loewe Individual Compose always shows the perfect picture, which means that all TVs are perfectly suited to playing 3D content. Furthermore, the Loewe Individual Compose also displays 2D pictures in superior quality and it goes without saying that 2D programmes can be converted to 3D. What’s more, if authorised by the provider, 3D content can be conveniently recorded and played back using the 500GB Loewe DR+ hard disk recorder integrated in the television.

Content can even be streamed to another 3D-compatible Loewe television via WLAN, LAN or Powerline, and, with the Follow Me function, viewing can be resumed at any time. It makes no difference when the film or programme was paused, or for how long it was paused. Viewing can be resumed seamlessly at any time. But it is also possible to watch standard programmes via the built-in tuner on the main set’s flat screen, whilst the recording is streamed from the DR+ hard disk to the secondary set. If one person wants to watch a live programme on the main set, while someone else would rather view content saved on the DR+ hard disk recorder, then this is the answer. With DR+ Streaming, content can be effortlessly streamed to a TV in another room without interrupting the live programme. It is even possible to set up a veritable archive network with all of the DR+ hard disks in the home. All appropriately equipped televisions can be quickly and conveniently networked, allowing access to every set from any one of the others.

The integrated Loewe MediaPortal opens up a variety of media in the home network, such as digital radio programmes and photo, music or video files on external hard drives. And all current Loewe Individual televisions are fitted with it as standard. The entire online universe is also accessible with the Loewe MediaNet. No other manufacturer has currently integrated more European content into its range. It is also possible to surf freely on the Internet courtesy of the integrated browser.

The new, pioneering Loewe MediaText, which corresponds to the HbbTV standard, is also included in the package. At just the touch of a button on the Loewe Assist remote control, a multitude of online services can be selected to accompany programmes. Loewe is one of the first manufacturers to prepare its televisions for this videotext of the future. The new Individual 46 Compose 3D is therefore, according to the EISA, “the easiest and most flexible way to enjoy multimedia all around your house. It is also desperately elegant and stylish and perfectly crafted.”

The glass contrast filter panel in the Loewe Individual Compose 3D is an exclusive finishing touch. The television is available in the classic Loewe colours: High Gloss White, Aluminium Black and Aluminium Silver, and the interchangeable insets can also be freely designed to suit individual colour preferences. Numerous sound and set-up options are just the icing on the cake. Cutting-edge technology combined with numerous equipment options in a clear and elegant design – that’s the Loewe Individual.
