Loewe MediaUpdate

Loewe DR+ Streaming and MediaNet now also available for Individual and Connect 26 LED

  • Loewe DR+ Streaming: stream from television to television
  • Loewe MediaNet: access online content via your TV
  • Loewe MediaUpdate: the convenient route to new features

Kronach. – With DR+ Streaming, Loewe presented a world first at the IFA 2010: the convenient distribution of video throughout the home. The main TV’s hard disk recorder becomes a server, which allows films, for example, to be transmitted to other rooms, or a live programme to be streamed on a second set. With the new Loewe MediaNet, which was also presented at the IFA, the German premium manufacturer is now integrating even more online content into contemporary home entertainment. The Loewe Web Portal, with its clearly laid-out and edited content, offers a selection of Internet applications which are optimised for display on large flat-screen TVs through CE-HTML. Unrestricted Internet surfing is also possible with the help of the integrated Opera browser. Now, with a convenient MediaUpdate, Loewe is also making these revolutionary functions available for the LED TVs in the Individual series, which were launched before the IFA, and the Connect 26 LED.

DR+ Streaming – a world first at the IFA 2010
DR+ Streaming with Follow Me function makes it possible to pause a programme at any time and then continue watching on another TV set. The first TV acts as the server, streaming the programme via Powerline, LAN or WLAN to another television set. Moving from the living room to the conservatory whilst continuing to watch the same programme is no problem – all that's needed is a touch of the pause button and the activation of the Follow Me function. The programme can be picked up where it was left off, on the conservatory television, for example, and nothing is missed. Even the following situation can be quickly resolved with DR+ Streaming: someone is watching a live football game in the living room, but another member of the family would prefer to watch a recorded programme that is archived on the DR+ hard disk of the same television. DR+ Streaming means that this recording can simply be streamed to a TV in another room, without interrupting the live football. This is an absolute first in the digital recording and archiving sphere, and a great plus for convenience. All that’s required is a minimum of two current LED generation Loewe TVs, one of which must be equipped with an integrated hard disk. The Loewe Connect 26 LED makes the perfect secondary device for accessing programmes saved on the main TV set's DR+ hard disk.

Loewe MediaNet
Loewe MediaNet is your gateway to an unlimited world of online media. It has been designed as a constantly growing platform for interactive online TV applications. All applications such as news, eBay, Picasa, Cinetrailer or QTom are optimised for use on your TV, all courtesy of CE-HTML. In addition, the popular Internet browser Opera makes surfing the web with the remote control child's play. The application possibilities are considerable. Loewe MediaNet makes checking the weather at a given holiday location quick and easy – as is the decision to pack summer wardrobe or raincoat. In just a few steps, information on the local football team’s position in the league can be called up or a share price checked. It’s just as easy to watch the latest cinema trailers via Cinetrailer for example, or enjoy live music performances at home via iConcerts. The Aupeo interactive music service has also been given a new look for the MediaNet platform.

MediaUpdate
And here’s how it works: a MediaUpdate for the Connect 26 LED Flat TV and all Loewe Individual LED TVs on the market is now available in the support area of the Loewe website under https://www.loewe.de/au/support/.
