Kronach. – Three dimensional television is a trend with huge potential in the home entertainment sector. 3D blockbusters such as Avatar and Alice and Wonderland are huge box office hits, and the 3D Blu-rays are due to be released in 2011. More and more TV channels will broadcast 3D content in 2011 too. Loewe is keeping abreast of this trend with its own premium concept. According to Loewe’s strategy of recognising and evaluating new trends, and then choosing exactly the right time to go to market with sophisticated products, the well-established German manufacturer is presenting its first 3D products at the IFA 2010.

With its 3D televisions, Loewe is concentrating its efforts on Full-HD LCD technology with LED backlighting and 400Hz picture quality. The luminosity and high picture frequency of these displays makes them perfect for showing 3D content. The 3D compatible Loewe Blu-ray player will act as a signal source. The 3D effect is created using special 3D shutter glasses which create a three-dimensional image by darkening the left and right eye alternately. This is the most sophisticated technology at this moment in time. Loewe is also working intensively on new technologies where glasses are not required (autostereoscopy). Once again, a particular highlight is Loewe’s integrated hard disk recorder concept, which can record and play back frame-compatible 3D content.

The market launch of 3D television from Loewe is planned for the first quarter of 2011. The first 3D compatible Blu-ray players from Loewe will also be made available at this time. It goes without saying that the 3D products can be optimally integrated into the Loewe systems world. That means a great variety of individualisation possibilities, set-up solutions and sound options – up to 7.1 surround sound – to bring the cinema experience home. With the introduction of 3D technologies and the continual further development of display techniques, Loewe guarantees excellent design and state-of-the-art technology – in harmony.
