Kronach. – Loewe has recently introduced the Individual Sound Multiroom Receiver and bidirectional Assist Media remote control with OLED display. The receiver receives music from a local network or the Internet via LAN, WLAN or optional Powerline. A USB stick with MP3 music files and any analogue music sources can also be connected as desired. Operating the receiver is child's play with the help of the attractive Assist Media remote control, as the OLED display provides you with all necessary information as and when you need it - even when out of sight of the Multiroom Receiver. You are finally able to enjoy music in all its glory from the comfort of your favourite chair in an ideal listening position.

Conventional passive speakers can be used for music playback, for example, as in spite of its compact dimensions (33 x 18 x 6 cm), the Multiroom Receiver contains a powerful HiFi power amp with 2 x 50 watts sinus power. An active Loewe subwoofer can be optionally connected. Alternatively, the adjustable preamplifier output on the receiver can be connected to an existing stereo system.

Innovative operating concept with interactive remote control
Unlike conventional stereo systems or Internet radio devices, the receiver simply features an attractive operating indicator integrated into the slim housing. Loewe deliberately did not include a display on this device, as the information on a stationary display can only be read properly at close range. The logical consequence of this is that music devices in the dining room, home office, bedroom or living room often stand out unattractively or are difficult to operate. The standard infrared remote control also limits the usage options as it requires visual contact.

The operating concept of the new Multiroom Receiver from Loewe is revolutionary, as all controls, including the system display, are brought together in the elegant Assist Media remote control. This allows the user to directly view all important information on the Internet radio programme currently playing or the track selected from the library in the palm of their hand - even the album cover image appears on the display in all its glory.

Communication between the 14 mm-thin Assist Media remote control and the Multiroom Receiver is based on the wireless USB standard and is therefore protected from disturbance caused by other remote controls. The remote control’s range is over 10 metres and it even works reliably through normal walls. Each Assist Media can be pre-configured for up to seven different Multiroom Receivers – therefore a separate remote control is not necessarily required for each individual room. In practice, room selection is easily made using the cursor keys, which also naturally allow you to allocate each room with its own name.

Even when not in use, the 258 x 51 mm Assist Media appears timelessly elegant. As soon as the remote control is picked up or touched, the keys light up and the brilliant colour display comes to life, allowing the advantages of the Multiroom Receiver to unfold. When a music track is played on the Multiroom-enabled Loewe Reference Mediacenter, the display shows not only the artist, track title and length, but also the name and even the cover art of the album. The 36 x 48 mm display has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, and uses innovative OLED technology, making it exceptionally rich in contrast.

Convenient search for music and radio programmes
Browsing through the network music library or the contents of a USB stick connected to the side of the Multiroom Receiver is also a real joy due to the display and the convenient central navigation joystick on the remote control. This allows the Loewe Reference Mediacenter’s library to be sorted according to artist, track title, album or genre. A lightning-quick jump to the desired initial letter is really easy with the help of the alpha-numerical keys on the remote control. Internet radio programmes can be selected just as easily and clearly using the Assist Media. If the radio station features podcasts, a variety of podcast topics can be accessed quickly and simply, displayed in an alphabetical list of available content.

The Assist Media can incidentally also be used as an infrared remote control, for example for a television set, a set-top box or a media centre PC. As an intelligent remote control, its use is not limited to Loewe products. A high-performance lithium-ion battery acts as power supply and in normal operating conditions only requires charging once or twice a week. Loewe provides a smart and stylish charging station, which transforms the Assist Media into an elegant table-top sculpture.

Simple installation
The Multiroom Receiver can be operated conveniently and easily even by those with little network experience - depending on the existing network, it connects completely automatically, or interactively through a series of easy-to-understand on-screen dialogues. If desired, the Multiroom Receiver can be hung on the wall or placed on a shelf. With its open system architecture, it’s not only an ideal companion for the Loewe Reference Mediacenter, but also works with countless UPnP-enabled (Universal Plug and Play) home network devices from other manufacturers such an NAS hard disk or a server PC with Windows Media Player 11.
